Outer space tourism competition making trip cheaper

Space tourism is months from reality after a successful milestone test of Virgin Galactic’s suborbital spacecraft on Oct. 11. Virgin Galactic could have competitors from Outer space Adventures, which is partnering with Boe-ing to offer a suborbital spaceflight experience. Prices for space vacation are going down without a flight as new technology is developed by more companies entering the arena to compete for customers.

Visiting outer space the very first time

The concept of space vacation came from Virgin Galactic really. The very first manned commercial spacecraft, the VSS Enter-prise, had its first successful flight. Virgin Galactic will probably be the first commercial spaceflight line, reports CNN. The company has about $50 million which came from deposits of $200,000 from 370 custom-ers. Outer space Adven-tures could be the eventual competition of Virgin with a price of $102,000 being advertised already. Currently, a space tourism package aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft that including a few days at the international space station is going for $40 million.

A lot more competitors with space travel and leisure

There have been decades of the Boeing Business working in space-flight. Space Adventures and Boeing are working together to make space tourism possible. The plans are to use the Boeing Crew Space Transportation-100, or CST-100, for the flights. Boeing at first de-signed the CST-100 to ferry astronauts to the international space sta-tion. Private individuals could be able to buy seats on the capsule via Outer space Adventures. The CST-100 carries seven people and could be reused on multiple rockets. Boeing expects the spacecraft to be operational by 2015.

Eating a lot and not gaining

There is a Russian businessman with big plans. He wants to build the first outer space hotel before 2016. The Associated Press accounts that Sergei Kostenko, CEO of Orbital Technologies, announced his intentions to build a private outer space hotel accommodating up to seven individuals. Orbital Technologies states the first hotel built in space could be “designed specifically for tourists.”. It’s visiting be better than the international space station. It will not be crowded with equipment for science. Celebrity chefs might be enlisted to create dishes on Earth prepared especially for a weightless fine dining experience in zero gravity.
