Civilian fatalities in Kandahar the latest results of United States of America war effort

Escalating assault in Kandahar casts doubt on any claims of progress in the Afghanistan war. The Taliban insurgency fighting U.S. and Afghan forces set off explosions in Kandahar that killed 12 innocent people and wounded 26 more. Kandahar, a major populace center in southern Afghanistan, was in such deadly disarray that the deputy mayor was murdered in a mosque as he prayed. As the Afghanistan tragedy continues on its indeterminate course, one wonders how the intensifying violence could be justified as a struggle for a country’s independence. Source of article – Kandahar carnage means U.S. should leave sooner, not later by Newsytype.com.

Did not this happen like it is in Afghanistan just before?

The war in Afghanistan, which has grinded along for nine years, continues to go nowhere despite a “surge” of 30,000 additional troops last summer. Military men and women from numerous nations pressured into the conflict by the United States proceed to give up their lives for absolutely nothing. Al Qaeda is not even in Afghanistan anymore although that is the reason why the U.S. and its allies went there in the first place. The people in Afghanistan definitely do not want us there anymore. We say we’re liberating them but are just combating them. It has been over 35 years since the Vietnam war happened. It appears like we didn’t learn the first moment, and it’s occurring again.

Identifying insanity

Afghanistan is the Taliban’s country and they’re not going anywhere. What they want is their homeland. That leaves them with no other choice but to fight. There is not anywhere else they could go. The majority of the United States of America soldiers, Marines and airmen just hope they don’t end up in a body bag just before going home. There are limitless amounts of technology accessible to the United States with weapons although this doesn’t work with the guerrilla warfare the Taliban plays with making themselves never accessible to their opponents. As long as the exceedingly corrupt Afghan regime the United States supports remains in power, the Taliban insurgency will continue to fight, and innocent civilians will proceed to die. This is something we’ve seen before.

Best time to claim we won

Numerous more individuals are going to die while the United States of America waits till July 2011 to withdraw. At least there’s a plan to withdraw though. Afghan’s corrupt regime by Amend Karzai will still be supported by the United States of America That will not change. The Taliban will nevertheless be alive and well. It will just be hiding. Who knows how many more Afghan civilians and American, Canadian, Briton, German, Dutch and other NATO soldiers can be killed by then. The Obama administration is hoping, no doubt, that it can declare victory in time for the 2012 presidential election. What will declaring success do? It won’t do anything. Why not leave now in order to conserve a lot of lives?
