O’Brien had been at the center of a networking firestorm in 2010. His ouster as host of "The Tonight Show" created lots of dispute. O’Brien followers, labeling themselves "Team Coco," made a very public campaign of support for O’Brien. TBS acquired O’Brien after he left NBC. The debut in Nov had been one of probably the most eagerly awaited television events of the year. The first episode aired on Mon, Nov. 8.
TBS is airing the first show with Conan O'Brien
Not long after Conan O’Brien left NBC in January after “The Tonight Show” was nearly bumped to accommodate Jay Leno, speculation grew rampant over what his next move had been. In April, it was announced he would have a late night program on TBS, and the George Lopez program would be moved back an hour. The new show had been to be called simply “Conan.” Ever since the release of this details, fans everywhere have been eagerly waiting the start of this new show. The first episode of “Conan” will air on November 8, at 11 p.m. Eastern Time, as outlined by CNN. Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien still have some issues
Jay Leno had long planned to hand off “The Tonight Show” eventually, and also the torch had been duly passed to Conan O'Brien in June 2009. The "Jay Leno Show" didn't fare also as he had hoped and was slowly dying. Though the exact nature of the decision will never be known, it appeared that Conan O’Brien was being bumped from the traditional time slot of the “Tonight Show” at 11:35 p.m. to 12:35, for the sake of getting Jay Leno into better ratings. Why is there such a time gap for his new show and leaving his last? Supposedly it is because he had to wait 6-months before he could appear regularly on any TV show.
The rubber meets the road
There has been a lot of hype over the debut of “Conan,” and hopefully it will live up to it. O'Brien has a huge fan base that has been anxiously waiting since January for his next more.
