Giants Vikings match relocated to Detroit after Metrodome roof collapse

The scheduled match involving the Giants and the Vikings has been setback further by the failure of the roof of the Metrodome in Minnesota. The Teflon ceiling of the stadium tore open due to a hefty load of snowfall sitting on top. The match had already been postponed, and was moved. The match will take place in Detroit at Ford Motors Field. There is going to be a large installment loan taken out to correct this issue.

Metrodome ceiling ripped open by snowfall

The roof was ripped open at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome due to snowfall on it as Mother Nature obviously wants a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings. Air pressure is what supports the ceiling of the Metrodome which is an inflatable Teflon fabric. As snowstorms battered the Midwest, the snow started to pile onto the ceiling, eventually resulting in a leak. There wasn't a complete collapse of the Metrodome roof, accounts ABC. However, at 5 a.m. Sunday morning, there was enough snow to have a huge amount dumped onto the field. The New York Giants could not get to Minnesota anyway because of a heavy snow storm closing the Twin Cities airport so the match was already delayed until Monday.

Holding game in Detroit

Ford Field in Detroit is where the Giants and Vikings match will now be held. ESPN explained the match will air on the NFL Network for Direct TV subscribers although it won’t be filmed for Monday Night Football. Anyone making the trip to Ford Field holding tickets from the match will get preferred seating at the 50 yard line. Free tickets to the match are being given out. If you purchased a ticket to the game, do not worry. You’ll be given a full refund too. This is the fourth time the Metrodome roof has collapsed like this. In 1981, 1982 and 1983 it collapsed as well.

Favre being questioned a little

Favre might be absent from the game also which means Vikings fans have to deal with more than being homeless temporarily. A sprained shoulder is what the 41-year old QB has been dealing with since he injured his soldiers while playing the Buffalo Bills. More than likely Tavaris Jackson will be playing against the Giants even if he is well enough to play.
