Russia with 2018 World Cup

Even though Russian PM Vladamir Putin said the bid procedure was an "unscrupulous competition" and refused to show up to the FIFA during the bid, Russia beat three other bidders to host the 2018 World Cup. Russia’s World Cup bid was depending on the argument that Russia is a “growing market” for soccer.

Qatar to host 2022 World Cup

2022 could be the first time a soccer tournament will be held in the Middle Eastern country when the World Cup is held in Qatar. FIFA was worried about the "unhealthy" conditions for soccer within the 2022 World Cup which made it unlikely that Qatar would win the bid. Air-conditioned stadiums can have to be in Qatar for it. Though it’s a tiny country in the Persian Gulf, Qatar marketed itself as a “strong” option for a statement about “trusting” the Middle East.

FIFA making World Cup process transforming

Though the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosts have just been declared, some are calling for a change to the bidding procedure. Some reformers are asking that the bid process for World Cup hosts be kept to one World Cup at a time. Others are asking for a more politically neutral review of the bids. The bid procedure awarding the hosts the right to host the event is going to continue being controversial thinking about the FIFA World Cup is a huge political and economic event.

2014 World Cup in Brazil

The 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournaments aren't the first ones coming now though. 2014 could be when Brazil is hosting the tournament. There have already been a lot of preparations going on for the event in the country. The country is expecting 80,000 foreign tourists and 170,000 jobs to be created through it. In many circles, the 2014 Brazil World Cup is seen as a preparatory event for the 2016 Olympics. Organized crime and drug lords are getting kicked out of Favelas. This is part of the preparation. Many residents hope that the event can help the economy a ton even though it costs a lot.
