The lawsuit in opposition to restaurant chain Taco Bell has prompted the company to strike back with an ad campaign. The lawsuit goes to false advertising. Taco Bell is alleged to not have very much actual beef in its ground beef blend. Taco Bell isn’t really about to take it lying down. The business has taken out a full-page ad in main newspapers lambasting the claims. The fast food chain possibly did not have to obtain a payday loan to do this either. Taco Bell responds with ‘Thank you for suing us’
A lawsuit was recently filed in federal court, claiming Taco Bell fraudulently advertised food that the Mexican-cuisine-inspired fast food chain as ground beef. "Thank you for suing us" was a headline within the newspaper recently, said CNN. This is what Taco Bell did in response to the suit. The ad directly references the controversy, and states that if the company only used beef, it would taste uninteresting and thus wouldn’t “make for great-tasting tacos.”. Taco Bell states that in reality, about 88 percent is beef while 12 percent are "secret ingredients" in the mixture. Within the beef, 3 percent as water while taste is improved with caramelized sugar, yeast and oats.
Lawsuit the taco the town
The Taco Bell beef mixture legal action was submitted in California. The law practice Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, and Portis & Miles filed it. Only 35 percent beef was found by testing the firm did with the mixture. That means the U.S. Department of Agriculture's definition of "beef" was not being met. The testing methods and facility have not been disclosed, according to MSN.
Holy Molé
False advertising typically is under the regulation of the Federal Trade Commission. There is oat product in most ground beef though. When it is sold at fast food chains or in the grocery stores, this is typically the case. Parent business of Taco Bell, Yum Brands Inc., has been quiet on the matter, though Taco Bell executive Greg Creed called the accusations “ludicrous” and is reportedly looking into pursuing a countersuit.
